Careology announces it has bolstered its team for the next phase of growth

March 14, 2023

Careology launched in 2019 to build the world’s leading digital cancer care platform. Founder & CEO Paul Landau takes to the Rewired stage, to talk about the impact digital transformation can have in the cancer care space.

Bringing digital transformation to cancer care is extremely complex, we have spent the last few years researching and developing our product with both patients and clinical teams. Today, the product allows patients to navigate every stage of treatment in a digital-first way, while sharing critical data on symptoms, medications, side effects and more with healthcare teams, and seamlessly connecting to caregivers.

By combining a patient-led approach with a cutting-edge data and technology platform, Careology is empowering people living and dealing with cancer to do more for themselves at home, while allowing clinical and care teams to extend their reach beyond the walls of the hospital.

Careology is bolstering its team for the next stage of growth, with two key appointments. With vast experience in healthcare management across the public and private sector, Danae Dudley-Hammatt joins as Chief Operating Officer. With a background in quality, efficiency and productivity (QEP) management, Danae will be responsible for onboarding future clients and scaling the product and company.

We asked Danae, what are you most excited about in your new role at Careology?

Danae Dudley-Hammatt comments:

"Working with an amazingly driven and knowledgeable team to create a product that has the potential to transform cancer care globally. I am incredibly motivated to improve the healthcare journey and experience of patients who enter the healthcare system at the worst point in their lives. Creating one more #UpDay is enough motivation to get me out of bed in the morning.”

Pip Hodgson also joins to lead Product Strategy. Formerly Head of National Digital Product for NHS England, Pip brings extensive experience in large scale digital delivery programmes across both public and private sector and recently led the successful delivery of the NHS Covid Pass for vaccine certification. Pip will be focusing on driving product innovation that will enable Careology to add value across the entire cancer pathway globally.

We asked Pip, what are you passionate about?

   Pip Hodgson comments:

I have spent the last 10 years passionately trying to put people at the front and centre of their health and care needs. This has focused on better signposting people where to go in the system, improving access for those who do not have high digital literacy or maturity needs and implementing a user centred design approach to how we build patient facing digital services. I was super impressed with how Careology so easily connects clinicians with patients, provides users with support and guidance but most importantly, how Careology enables people to share their journey so easily with loved ones and carers.

This follows the news in the second half of last year that Careology is now working with leading cancer care providers and private medical insurers such as Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Trust, The Royal Marsden Trust, East of England Cancer Alliance, Nuffield Health and Aviva, among others.

Founder & CEO Paul Landau commented:

"We are seeiImage 13-03-2023 at 16.43ng a fundamental shift in the way healthcare is being delivered; the pandemic fast-tracked the digital revolution that healthcare, and particularly cancer care, has been crying out for. Digital cancer care has the potential to improve efficiency, build clinical capacity, lower the risk of complications and improve outcomes. All while vastly improving the overall patient experience. This is why I am so pleased to welcome Danae & Pip to the team, as we continue to build the world’s leading digital cancer care platform.”

By putting the patient’s needs right at the centre of how the technology is developed, Careology is now consistently selected as the leading digital cancer care app, in terms of functionality, design and ease of use. The development of the product alongside clinical teams has resulted in real clinical rigour that healthcare teams trust. At the end of the last year, an independent white paper reviewed over 400 cancer related applications and Careology came out as number one.
