Here at Careology we are huge fans of BBC 5 Live’s award winning podcast, You, Me & The Big C.
First hitting the airwaves in March 2018 and setup by Rachael Bland, Deborah James and Lauren Mahon the aim was to normalise discussions around cancer. Each episode focuses on a specific topic such as exercise, second opinions and recurrences. In an interview from 2018, Deborah said "we are uncensored and real. We all speak honestly about our cancer, the highs, lows and everything in between."
Last month Careology was invited onto the podcast to talk about the role technology plays within cancer care. In this episode, our Founder & CEO Paul Landau, and NHSX CEO Matthew Gould, join Deborah, Lauren and Steve Bland in discussing how technology can improve the patient experience and help deliver better health outcomes.
We know that managing treatment, symptoms and side effects can feel daunting and overwhelming. That’s why we are so passionate about building thoughtful and intelligent technology to help make things a little less complicated at a time when they’re complicated enough already.
Technology like Careology, “gives people a bit of ownership and control over their situation, where otherwise they can feel a bit helpless” Lauren said.
“People expect technology, within all different areas of our lives, to make life easier,” Paul said. “And I believe this sort of digital technology is going to become the norm and part of how everybody is managed. Your care can then be delivered 24/7.”
