The Changing Role of Digital in Cancer Care

March 29, 2021

In our recent webinar we explored the important and changing role digital technology plays in cancer care, now at this crucial time and in the future.

We were delighted to be joined by an impressive group of panellists, all of whom are industry experts in their fields, including:

  • Christine Husbands - Managing Director of RedArc, the leading provider of long-term emotional support for people facing serious illness

  • Dr Majid Kazmi - Chief of Cancer Services at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust

  • James Clark - Senior Business Development Manager for Oncology and IV Therapies at McKesson UK

  • Rachel Murphy - CEO of Difrent, delivering professional services and business change to the public and private sector

During the conversation, we discussed how little patient-facing technology had previously been available in cancer care. Why the time is right for digital adoption. How the use of digital will improve the patient experience and how embedding technology within the pathway will empower patients to be more active and involved in their treatment.

We discussed how healthcare professionals can benefit from adopting digital tools and how this must free up their time. How having access to rich digital data and insights can help to guide and inform discussions with their patients. As Dr Kazmi says "the pace of change in cancer care is staggering. Things we couldn't have imagined a decade ago are now a reality."
