Careology wins 'Excellence in Supporting Patients and Healthcare Teams' at the Forward Healthcare Awards 2022.

Our partnership with Nuffield Health has been recognised by Forward Healthcare Awards for its ‘Excellence in Supporting Patients and Healthcare Teams’ of 2022.

Earlier this year, Careology launched with Nuffield Health’s cancer care team, to enable patients and healthcare professionals to have access to a fully digital care support solution. The aim of the partnership was to help patients to feel connected, empowered and in control of their health and wellbeing. Careology launched with Nuffield Health patients in February 2022 to demonstrate how cancer care could be improved through connected remote monitoring and engagement technology.

Through Careology, patients undergoing cancer treatment at Nuffield Health Derby Hospital are connected to caregivers and clinicians, and are in control of monitoring and sharing their health including symptoms, vital signs and wellbeing measures. Through the app, patients can track symptoms such as temperature, pain and nausea, while also connecting to a wearable device. Careology and Nuffield Health pilot data discovered that 76% of patients engaged with Careology, and felt more in control of monitoring their symptoms and well-being.

Careology and Nuffield Health worked closely together to co-develop functionalities of the digital solution to best suit their patients and care teams needs.

Pilot data shows 100% of nurses engaged with Careology Professional, and reported feeling informed and connected to their patients.

David Richardson, Hospital Director at Nuffield Health Derby Hospital said:

“We are delighted that this award recognises the positive impact our partnership with Careology is making to patients at our hospital. We are committed to providing our patients with the latest technologies and we are excited to see how the piloting of this technology and partnership with Careology progresses. People undergoing cancer treatment have many different experiences and we hope using this Careology app will provide them with extra support and knowledge so they can understand their treatment pathway.”

Paul Landau, Founder and CEO comments:

“We’re over the moon to have won this award for our work with Nuffield Health. It truly is a testament to the passion and dedication of the Careology team and the focus, innovation and determination of Nuffield Health. We have been incredibly impressed by Nuffield Health’s proactive approach and its commitment to moving into the new digital age in healthcare. We look forward to evolving our close partnership with Nuffield Health as we deliver our mission to transform traditional cancer care.”

Digital cancer care is playing an increasingly important role in supporting people throughout the whole cancer pathway. Innovative and forward thinking providers such as Nuffield Health receive insights through patient reported data and in app clinical questionnaires, such as holistic needs assessments. The ‘virtual ward’ view in Careology Professional enables nurses, pharmacists and clinicians to provide a highly personalised and connected patient experience.
